Let's Talk Tomatoes

Well, my tomatoes are starting to produce fruit.  And that leads me to my next predicament...what do I do with them all?!?  I plan on canning some tomato juice and some  tomatoes...but that can get a little boring--ya know?  So...it's time to link up (this is my first link up...so I hope it goes smoothly) Get out those recipes and get them posted...I have at least 25 tomato plants that are going to turn red soon!  If you don't have a blog...leave your favorite recipe in the comments section. My husband is on the hunt for a really great salsa recipe...Thanks for Participating!

If you enter a blog address, please make sure it is to your post, not the home page.
Also, I know I don't have a button, but if you would please link back...I would appreciate it!

Family Driven Faith

As I mentioned in the post with the clip of Divided, Aaron and I have been reading Family Driven Faith by Dr. Voddie Baucham .  It is a great book!  We have loved the thought provoking writing.  So, it gave me an idea--I live in an area where I don't really know anyone, we just moved....but if I did, this is the kind of book that we would invite a group of people over...share a meal each week, and really dive into a conversation and have good fellowship as we discuss this book.  Since I can't do that, at least at the moment...I thought I'd do it virtually! If you've read this book, want to read this book, or have never heard of this book....I would love for you to participate.  This is what I am thinking:  Purchase or borrow the book.  Read a chapter each week with your husband.  While you read, go over the questions at the back--in the study guide.  Be ready to discuss what you liked, agreed with, didn't like or agree with,  what impacted you the most, etc. We'll just have a little fellowship right here on my blog.  You don't have to have a blog to comment--just be respectful when you comment.  Ready, Set, GO!  First Discussion will be posted on Friday the 12th--It will be over chapter 1 and the intro.  (I'll try to figure out how to do a link up, so if you have a blog you can link up)

Blessings,

Amanda

Life

Often Aaron and I talk about life and how ours has changed so very much.  You see...naturally, Aaron and I are planners.  We plan when we will reach these goals, do this, do that…especially before we had children.  Aaron’s “catch phrase” is so where do you see yourself and us next year, in 5 years, in 10 years.  He usually gets this way when it comes around to our anniversary and another year has just flown by.  I used to hate it…I’m a planner, but don’t usually like to talk about it…but now I LOVE it.  I love looking back and seeing where God has grown us and stretched us, even though it is nowhere near where we had imagined ourselves.  Today, (it’s not our anniversary either) as I look back, so much has changed!  And more than that…we have grown so close together, and I love that most.  God has continued to knit us together and in the midst of divorces that seem to be happening around every turn, I am thankful to my husband—who is not only devoted to me, and our children…but devoted to God.  And tonight, as I sit here and type—I am thankful, so thankful for him.
Blessings to you and yours,

Amanda

Divided

I saw a clip for a documentary that intrigued me.  Aaron and I have been reading Family Driven Faith by Voddie Baucham, so family and our faith focus in our family has been fresh in my mind.  I have an amazing husband, who has taken the role of discipling our children very seriously and he does an amazing job.  As I was watching this film, I kept thinking about all of the people I know that long for this type of community.  I would love for you to watch this clip...or even go to the website and watch the whole film for free.
